WHAT WE BELIEVE

It’s not about membership, it’s about relationship - relationship with God and with each other.  We believe that the ministry of the local church is ordained by God & that it’s not His plan for anyone to do life (or ministry) alone.  The local church creates opportunities for you to connect and serve with believers who are on the same journey as you.  You'll find relationships to give you strength as you do life together.  Here are some of our core beliefs:

BELIEFS

WHO WE ARE: We are a Bible-believing, non-denominational church.

ONE GOD:  We believe that there is one God, that He is personal, almighty and perfect; that He created all things and that He exists eternally as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

HOLY SPIRIT: We believe that the Holy Spirit is the Third Person of the triune Godhead, and that He is active in the church today.

JESUS CHRIST: We believe that Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man. He died for our sins, rose from the dead and sits at the right hand of the Father. He is the only way to salvation.

WORSHIP: We believe that Biblical worship consists of singing, playing instruments, dancing, shouting, clapping hands, etc. Worship is an integral part of any believer's life, and should be passionate and lively.

BAPTISM: We believe that all new believers should be baptized by complete immersion in water.

BIBLE: We believe that the Bible is the inspired word of God, written by men as they were inspired by the Holy Spirit.

CHURCH: We believe that God has one universal church but desires for every believer to be an integral part of a local assembly.

EVIL: We believe that Satan (or Lucifer) is a real being who roams the earth seeking to destroy man. We also believe, however, that he is a defeated foe. Jesus made a show of him openly; in other words, Jesus showed His superiority over Satan.

REDEMPTION: We believe in the personal return and victorious reign of Jesus Christ, who will judge in equity and justice all people who have ever lived, giving over those who were unrepentant to eternal condemnation and receiving the redeemed into eternal life.

OUR PRINCIPLES

We commit ourselves to exemplify and promote the following principles as a church:

The reliability and power of the Bible, God's Holy Word.

The good news of redemption and restoration in Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord.

The necessity of the living power of the Holy Spirit in worship and ministry.

The importance of the local church in the work to advance the kingdom of God.

Practicality in the presentation of God's Word.

The value of prayer in the life of every believer.

The strengthening of marriage and family relationships.

Possessing the spirit of grace and demonstrating attitudes of graciousness in our church family and to our community.

Generosity and biblical stewardship with our resources.

Harmony and stability in church and family life.

Servant-heart attitudes in spirit and action.

The pursuit of personal holiness, integrity and Christian character.

Excellence in all that is done in service for Christ and His church.

The expression of love, friendliness and warmth in the work and worship of the church.

FAMILY

High Peaks Family Ministry includes those who are married, with or without children and single parents. We recognize that being faithful to God as a spouse, parent or child is not easy. That's why building community among families is so important to us.

We believe being in authentic Christian community is how we best receive the encouragement and support we need for our families to follow Christ together.

If you are a parent you should know that we believe it is the responsibility of the whole church to create a safe environment where children can know and experience the love of God. We hope you'll join us and become a part of our family!

GOAL

We see a church of real disciples not part-time believers - people that love God as Father, follow Him as Messiah and honor Him as King.

We see a church filled with people who are so amazed at God's grace that they can't help but live lives of generosity.   We see a church where people feel like they belong before they believe and believe before they belong.  We see a church where people become whole in spirit, soul, and body.

We see God leading us to spend ourselves for those that could never pay us back;  strong with families, outreach, and missions.  We see a church that models the variety of God's kingdom.

We see a congregation that loves God more than on Sundays and cares for people with more than words.

We see a Spirit-filled church that moves in God's power yet stays grounded.  We see a church where the potential of every member is realized as people find their purpose and do the work of ministry.  We see a team that is led by people that are greater on the inside than they are on the outside.

We see a mentoring church and a missions outpost, a worshiping family and authentic community.  We see a house of prayer.

We see the church as supernatural because He promised nothing less!
